Char Siu Chicken Thighs

Char Siu Chicken Thighs

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ¼ teaspoon allspice

  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

  • 2 Tablespoons honey

  • 2 Tablespoons hoisin sauce

  • 2 Tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 Tablespoon ketchup

  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs

Method

  1. Add all the ingredients but the chicken to a large bowl and stir well.  This is your marinade

  2. Remove 2 tablespoons of the marinade for later. 

  3. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade and completely coat with the marinade.  Cover the bowl and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.

  4. Using a cast iron pan, or a charcoal grill, cook the chicken until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.  Use the marinade you removed to baste the chicken while cooking
