Cheeseburger Soup
Ingredients
2 pounds of ground beef
2 Tablespoon cooking oil
1 large onion
2 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup flour
4 teaspoons dry mustard
1 package of sliced American Cheese
1 Tablespoon chicken base
½ gallon water
Method
Add the oil to a large pot on medium-high heat, add the ground beef, and begin to brown. Dice the onion and add to the browning meat; continue to brown the meat until thoroughly cooked.
Turn the heat to medium and stir in flour to form a roux.
Cook roux on medium heat for 5 minutes while continuing to stir. Add water and cook another five minutes while continuing to mix with a whip.
As the soup begins to thicken, add Worcestershire, mustard, and chicken base. Continue to stir and add the American cheese, a couple of slices at a time, until well dissolved and combined into the soup.
Simmer and continue to stir for 10 minutes before serving.
