Ingredients
For the Noodles
8 ounces of wheat noodles
For the Sauce
2 Tablespoons Chinese sesame paste
2 Tablespoons of soy sauce
1 Tablespoon of rice vinegar
1 Tablespoon chili oil
1 teaspoon honey
1-2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 inch of ginger, minced
For the Tofu
8 oz firm tofu, medium dice
2 Tablespoons of olive oil
2 green onions, chopped
1 teaspoon of Sichuan peppercorns
For Garnish
Chopped green onions
Crushed peanuts
Fresh cilantro
Method
Boil water in a large pot. Cook the wheat noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Mix the sesame paste, soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili oil, honey, minced garlic, and ginger. Then set aside.
In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat.
Add the tofu and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
Stir in chopped green onions and Sichuan peppercorn. Cook for another 2-3 minutes
Add the cooked noodles and pour the sauce over everything in the skillet with the tofu. Toss gently to combine, ensuring the noodles are well coated with the sauce.
Dish the noodles into bowls and garnish with chopped green onions, crushed peanuts, and fresh cilantro if desired.
