Homemade Pita Chips

Ingredients

  • 4 Pita bread or flatbread

  • ½ cup olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

  2. Using scissors or kitchen shears, cut around the edge of each pita, and separate into two thin rounds.

  3. One at a time, brush olive oil on the rough edges of the pita and sprinkle with salt

  4. Stack the pita with the rough side up, then slice into eight wedges

  5. Spread the wedges onto two sheet pans, rough side up

  6. Bake the pita wedges for about 10 minutes, adjusting the sheet pan positions in the oven if necessary to ensure equal cooking

  7. The chips are done when they are crisp

  8. Cool completely and store in a sealed container for about 5 days
