Turmeric chicken is a flavorful dish made with chicken, turmeric, garlic, ginger, cumin, and other spices. The chicken is cooked in a rich sauce until tender and is often served with rice or naan bread.
Turmeric Chicken
Ingredients
2 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1 Tablespoon ground turmeric
3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
3/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 Tablespoons Tamari sauce
1 Tablespoon honey
1 shallot, minced
1 Tablespoon fresh garlic, minced
1 cup fresh green beans
Red pepper flakes to taste
Method
In a small dish, mix the turmeric, salt, and pepper
Place the diced chicken into a giant bowl and sprinkle the turmeric mixture into the chicken. Use your hands to rub the chicken with the turmeric mixture and get it well-coated
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the oil and let it heat up. Add the seasoned chicken and cook for About 5 minutes.
Add the shallots, garlic, and green beans. Stir and cook for about two minutes more
Add the tamari sauce and honey and stir well; cook until the sauce reduces by half and thickens.
Serve on rice. Top with red pepper flakes
It was easy and I already had these things for the most part. substitutions… red onion, frozen green beans and left over turkey. i cook a Turkey once a month portion and freeze for meal planning. 🐢
